Need MOTOR MOUNTS 1970 Mustang Convertible 250cc

Need MOTOR MOUNTS 1970 Mustang Convertible 250cc right away and you folks know how hard that could be. Any help would be appreciated in pointing me in the right direction. Dozens of phone calls and hours of web-surfing lead me to think that a junk yard may be the best way to go. My darned alternater fins are smacking the frame rails on accelleration.

I think there have been some other members with the same predicament. The 69-70 250 Mustang had unique mounts and they are very hard to find.

I recall one other person trying Maverick and Granada mounts, but had little success. You might look at those again and see if they might be adapted somehow.

Humm. This is a strange one. My Corteco catalog list Part number MT2333 for the following applications. Note the 69 Mustang with a 200 and a 70 Maverick with a 250, have the same part number. Not sure if they would work or not? Does the pic look close? If not, can you post a pic of what they look like?

PS: I have them in stock. I also e-mailed Corteco to se if they have any info on them.

In a thread from a while back f0ssil was looking for the correct mounts to use and I snapped a pic of some factory '69 250 Mustang mounts that my moms gave me (thanks mom )

AZ, the ones you posted do not look like the same style as the ones I have. You can see a pic in this thread:

Thanx for the input - You guys are great! I'll try to post something useful to others if i can.

I'm going to explore the options/reccommendations you've presented over the next few days and have been combing through these archives and finding more info.

I'm getting a new transmission mount installed this afternoon and will try to get my hands on TWO pair of engine mounts a.s.a.p. I hope i don't have to resort to a costly modification job.

Probably pissin in the wind here but could frame mounts froma 289 work with some shims or somethin :

I'm trying to figure out how to fit a 250 from a 71' maverick into my '66 'stang. it came with motor mounts and they are angled almost like for a Vee eight maybee with some kind of larger rubber steel sandwich it could work. I have heard the sloting the mounts and the air cleaner suggestions before. the air cleaner sounds like a good idea but sloting the mounts seems ( forgive me ) too hackneyed. I don't trust myself to do it accurately no matter how simple it may seem.

I think the only factory setup that would work is if you were to find a set of frame/motor mounts like the ones I posted a pic of in the other thread. I'd sell mine but I want to use them when putting the 250 int my '67. I think the next available option is to pm the66mustang (harrie) and buy a set of his custom motor mounts to use with your '66 frame mounts. He was going to revise them so that they worked for the 250 on the factory 200 frame mounts. After that I think you would have to resort to custom frame/motor mounts to get the motor 'down' in the engine bay. Currently my '67 has a 250 sitting in the engine bay using factory '68 frame/motor mounts. It sits up too high for me to get a big bell C4 attached. I have not modified the mounts at all. Luckily Mom located the '69 parts for me..
