NEW DS2 and 4 pin

Need some tec help. I just got a rebuilt ds2 dizz form vintage inlines and was starting to collect all the parts to upgrade. My plan is to use a gm 4 pin module. Can i use the stock coil? Do i need to Supply 12v or will it run with the pink wire? This is in a 63 fancon.

My guess is a 63 170 has the small dizzy shaft hole, and your dizzy has a 5/16ths shaft. I have read here where guys have enlarged the hole for fit. I had a 64 Fairlane with an early 200 with the small 1/4 shaft , later 68 distributor would not fit. Good luck

Yes i need to redrill. But question is about ignition coils

Matt, Do you know what engine you have,what year, cid. Alot can change in 53 years.

David i was asking about the stock 63 falcon coil?
If im going to spent money on a coil not going to use stock.

funny U asked, they just finished that up on another thread here.
Didn't follow too closely (for ohms/volts/amps, etc) but I thought it wuz same coil used w/o the HEI.
The quality metal cased oil filled automatic magnetic controlled w/ or w/o the horseshoe (sorta U shaped) connector.

Try the search function @ the highest horrizontal line above on this page...
