Hi all,

It seems like I went without my beloved Ford I-6 engines for a long time, and now I finally have three of them again: A '63 Ford "unibody" F100 pickup with a 223, a '64 F100 longbed stepside with the rare 262, and an '85 Econoline E150 van with a 300.

The 262 truck was in my family from 1973-1991, and was then sold. I bought it back in 1997 for sentimental reasons and am now in the process of doing a frame-off restoration on the truck.

I just bought the 223-equipped Uni and the 300-equipped van this past year.

Glad to have found the site, lots of good info.

Take care,

Dan,
I've got a 223 in my '55 Ford Panel and am thinking about locating a 262 locally as there are a LOT of old Fords around here. Folks on this board are making some serious noises about a 223 stroker with 262 crank and pistons....sounds like a h*lluva set-up to me.
My question is, what are the casting numbers on the block? All the 223's I've ever seen begin with EBP. That's the series they list in the manual too.
I may have seen a 262 without recognizing it as such....now I want to make sure of what I'm seeing. If a guy has an old Ford and wants to upgrade that old six, maybe I can git one for next to nothin'....But I need those casting numbers. Your assistance greatly appreciated
Do you know what year the 262 came out and when they quit using them?
