new radiator into the XP

ive got an xp fairmont which iam currently converting to a 200ci crossflow engine out of a cortina. unfortunatley the existing radiator is too close to the engine and i cannot get a fan in the gap. i was wondering what others have done about this? i know you can cut open the front apron to allow a bigger radiator and the fan in there, but i'd much rather try to leave it standard and uncut. any help would be much appreciated.

have you considered using a thermo fan?

yes i have, except i would rather keep maximum airflow to the radiator. and i might turbo it at a later date, so where the thermo fan would go is where i'd need to put an intercooler.
