Very nice,M-G,I haven't seen that much Gold since we were taken off the Gold Standard in '71! OO6. :) :o

doug, how did you get your pulley and balancer off? i posted about this and tried what yall suggested but had no luck. thanks for the help.

Looks good Doug. I should have done that when I had my engine apart. I am too lazy to do anything else.

unbolt the three bolts that hold the pulley on the balancer then go to the parts store and buy a balancer puller (I think mine cost me ~ 15 bux if that much) and pull the thing of there it don`t take no time at all

Steven,

Actually its stirling silver jet hot coat  Picture doesnt do it justice....looks almost like polished aluminum in real life!

Marco,

Maybe do it next time!

barroom hero,

You have to loosen the big bolt in the center of the crank balancer 1st....its around a 3/4" or 7/8" size IIRC...

why buy a puller? AutoZoo will rent one to ya, then once you are done with it you turn it back in and get your money back

cuz I don`t like to make more trips than I need to and I wasn`t thinking sorry forgot about the bolt I was half asleep when I made the post BTW I hope you have a braker bar for that bolt :D

I bought a harbor freight cheapy for $8 and beats trips to autozoo...esp late at night. mine is a 3/4 hole puller and came with a bunch of bolts for it too.

Highly Cool

Hey Mike-
Does this post indicate you're more better now? That they sprung you from the hospital?

If so, good news to hear!

Thats better Mike...Thanks!!!

I wonder if you can polish it (jet hot coat) and what would it look like on a valve cover?? :D :D

Later,

Doug

Geezer, I just bought a valve cover w/ the jet hot coating from Mike for my oz head. The coating looks great on the valve cover!! :D 8) Mark

Doug,

Yes, it can be polished. But I can't remember what they said to use. I think it was chrome polish, but I'll call them tomorrow and ask again.

Here's a couple pics of the valve cover. It doesn't have quite the luster of chrome (close), but it will outlast chorme and it will never discolor or pit.

Now thats cool looking!!!!

Must be Marks

Mike if you could, please find out!!! I have a 1980 valve cover that would look nice coated! 8) 8)

And maybe a few more parts also....

One other question,

Can they jet hot parts that are allready chrome plated?? Or do they have to be just plain metal??

Thanks,

Doug

Yep, that's the one I sent to Mark.

Chrome is fine. They charge a little extra to remove it, but it can be done.

just think a whole engine done in JetHot......
wow, that could be cool, polished stainless steel exhaust.....

Must tell you guys when i received the valve cover and I allready have the coated headers I started looking over the engine compartment for anything else i could coat  Great looking and has a purpose too :D Mark
