newer motor for my 1928 model A

No none of those engines are going to bolt up to the stock trans a 200 six might be the closest to fit, you would need make or get and use an adapter plate, don't know of any that were ever made for those engines to a Model A trans combo. You can try contacting or looking at Wilcap and Trans Dapt. Having had severial Models A's and my Dad and I used to restore them I don't think any of the engines you listed would be a very good swap into a stock Model A body and chassis. Some of the engine swaps done back in the day were the 1932 to 1934 also know as Model B's and Model C's very good engines that are direct bolt ins and a number of parts can even be bolted into Model A engines. The late 1930's & 1940''s up four cylinder Flatheads Ford tractor engines are close to a bolt in swap and some of 1950's up OHV industrial 4 cylinder engines that were a little more work to swap in but are a nice fit in a stock body chassis. Then you get into the Hot Rod combos and having to rebuild the compleate chassis for these kind of swaps.

Later on in the mid 1970's and 80's lots of the 1970's Ford Pinto Four cylinders some of the tiny 1600 Kents and lots of the 2000 & 2300 OHC engines got swapped into Model A's along with their 4 speed or C4 transmissions, plus a newer rear axel. There were even new cars made that looked like the Model A's using the Pinto drive train. As a side note there is an overdrive aux. trans made to fit in the stock Model A's by Mitchel plus the same company also makes a syncrow gear set that fits into the stock 3 speed trans case.

My first car was a 1928 Model Sport Coupe if you don't mind telling me what's so hard or a big hassle on starting yours? When everthing is adjusted and tuned correctly they will start quick and easy. I miss not having a Model A it's getting hard now days to find any of them for a reasonable price. Good luck on your build up.

There should be Model A forums out there that have very specific information on what works and doesnt work. They have been around for nearly 100 years.
