No oil to rocker shaft on 200

I need some help on this one. 66Sprint6s car was ticking and had a miss to it. When I pulled the valve cover and there was metal dust under one of the rockers. It was not getting any oil and the rocker had eat into the shaft. I thought that somthing was just clogged in the shaft so I grabbed another 200 shaft and rockers to put on it. I cleaned them VERY good before I put them on to make sure they where 100% clean and free of anything that would stop any oil from flowing. After starting it up I saw there was no oil getting to any of the rockers. The motor has oil in it and good oil pressure(on the stock gauge) and runs fine but there is no oil up top. What should I try next?

If it´s anything like the old Y-Blocks, you may have a spun camshaft bearing, which is blocking the flow of oil to the shaft.
You should be able to fit a socket over the oil pump drive (after removing the dizzy), and spin the oil pum with a drill. Pull the rocker shaft off and see if any oil comes up.

I may be wrong but in the book doesn't it mention a couple of trouble spots that can cause this problem?

I talked to Dan (Importkiller) today and he said he got it figured out. Not exactly sure on what happened, but it seems that something got eaten up and he had to flush out the motor to get all the metal bits. Says it runs great now, it ran great right before the ticking, so I hope it will run just as good if not better!!!!

P.S. Thanx alot Dan, youve done so much for me and I really appreciate it!

That is a common problem with machine shops that dont do a lot of 200's. The last cam bearing has two oil holes- one feeds the rocker arm. Ive seen it a few times where the shop only aligns one hole and cuts off flow to the rocker arm assy and 100 miles down the road there is nothing but shrapnel up top.

There was no problem with any of the cam bearings on it. The oil hole in the back of the head was stopped up and would not let any oil to get to the rocker shaft. After a little while of cleaning it out and priming the oil pump I put everything back together and started it up it runs great and there is lots of oil going to it. Had me a little worried at first though. :?
