There is no doubt that a progresive linkage on a tri carb setup has it's benefits, but how bad would a non-progressive link really perform? Assuming 3 Autolite 1100's were used on a 200 with headers, cam & head work, & 2.77 manual tranny.
1) I am sure gas mileage would drop, but to what? single digits...low teens?
2) Drown the engine at low RPMs or create better low end torque?
3) Impact on driveability? (this is not going on a daily driver)
4) Tune ability?
I'm just wondering if a progressive linkage is really worth the trouble of fabbing one up. Its a simple (read: I'm lazy) idea, so I'm sure someone has already tried it, what were your results?
Thanks guys,
Jay
