I just bought a Steel shim head gasket on ebay. The number is C0DE-6051C. The guy had it listed for a 170/200 and 250. Will that work on my 200. I just seen after I bought it that the number is for a 140/170. The 200/250 had the D3DE-6051AA.

Thanks Brian

Brian, i have several of those steel head gaskets. If they hang into the bore then do not use them.
I will check the #'s on mine to verify. The ones i have are felpro 7916 & they overhang into the bore. I guess if anyone is building a 170 we have several steel gaskets to sell.
Just purchase the Victor brand for your 200. I have had better luck with them than the thicker felpros. Bill

Thanks I just called the guy who has it. He said it will fit the 200 just fine. I has used them on 170/200 and 250. It is an older guy who use to work at Ford. I did not realize that 144/170 had a 3.5 bore and the 200/250 had a 3.68 bore. It is my bad if it does not fit even though he had it listed for a 170/200 and 250. I need to double check things before I buy it.

Don't know if that felpro is the same as the Ford steel shim? According to the Falcon performance Hand book that code is original on 144 and 170's and the D3DE was used on the 200-250's.
Has any one checked the ford CODE for the 200 for overhang???
My way

IIRC the C9DE along with the D3DE were for the 200 & 250 (3.68 bore). I have 3 of the C0DE's for my 170 (3.5" bore), which I believe availability is much greater. The C9 & D3 are much harder to find.

They hang over the 3.68 then???---The embossing used to get seal needs to have metal behind it right??

If the seal lip is close to the bore with no metal at the bore edge then it probably will not seal.
