Not sure what it's called - part on the water pump

I've had a dual roller chain and alum water pump staring at me for the past year from my closet. So...I'm fixing my leaky engine and replacing the old with the new. What is the part that screws into the water pump that a hose connects to going to the carb plate? It has 20 yrs corrosion on it. Any recommendations on what to replace that with and where. Auto or hardware store?

That is the outlet to the heater core. It should be a pipe thread fitting found at either a parts store or hardware store, but the parts store should be more helpful in finding the right sizes that you'll need.

You can get brass fittings for it.

Just remember this.Whatever metal the hose barb is made of,use anti-sieze compound on the threads as the pump body is made of aluminum.
