Okay, after 3 remanufactured carter YF's having this problem (step on gas part throttle and car hesitates) I'm starting to wonder if there is another problem. Several people here have convinced me to get my carb problems resolved before I fine tune my distributor, but I feel like something else is wrong here. The parts store is tired of seeing me  It's been a few months since i had it on, but my 170 ci. 1100 carb does not hesitate from what I can recall.
My timing is set at about 10 btdc, and total advance with vacuum plugged in was around 50 deg and about 32 deg with it unplugged. Is there somthing else I should check? At this point I'm so frustrated I'm about ready to go spend almost $300 on a carb (including core charge) from pony carburetors. I've been unable to find a good rebuildable carb and don't have time to play with crappy $120+ reman. units anymore.
Which would be better for a stock 200 for a slight performance increase- an autolite 1101 or carter RBS? They both cost the same. The '68 200 ci 1100 with venturi upgrade is $30 more, so the 250 ci carb makes more sense to me.
