oil pan

how straight forward is it removing my oil pan.....someone told me that the oil pump is attached to it somewhat..

IIRC the main obstruction is the front 'crossmember' aka 'belly bar'. (However it should be removable, or it is on first gen stangs). It keeps you from being able to snake the pan around the oil pump & pick-up assembly for complet removal. The pump & p/u aren't attached to the pan per se but with that cross bar in the way it's difficult to do more than drop the pan just enough to be able to change the gasket.
