hi advice required again:

engine is a 200 ci with std adjustable rockers and the factory std solid pushrods

the lifters are NON oil thru and have the little oil hole on the side.

the cam grinder sent me a new set of lifters:

a set of sealed power HT 900 lifters .

which are OIL thru

now my question is

can i use the OIL thru lifters with the solid pushrods?

or does the ball of the solid pushrod prevent the lifter oil coming out ?

and hence i need NON OIL lifters ?

No the HT-900 are for a V-8 or an application which uses yella-terra 1.65 full roller rockers arms which require pushrod oiling.
The HT-900 are .150 longer than the lifters for the 6 cylinder engines.
However on all my engines i use the V8 lifters just in case i want to use a rocker arm other than the yella-terra 1.65 full roller rockers.
IF YOU USE ANY OTHER ROCKER ARMS OTHER THAN THE YELLA-TERRA you need a special non oiling pushrod .150" shorter to compensate for the .150 higher oil through lifter.
Clay Smith cams can make that special pushrod which is non oiling & .150" shorter than the pushrod specified for the stock adjustable rockers. Bill

thanks - resolved it now - the HT 900 are also the australian crossflow ford six lifters ( as well as V8)

what i need it HT2083 (also ford FE lifters ) and yep they are 3mm ( or so) shorter than the HT900 with no oil thru hole in top

but the cam grinder reckoned it was all OK with the HT900 and solid pushrods and thru oiling lifters quote ' it will just splash a bit more oil about'

- but im not so sure plus the extra height will stuff up the rockers .

so off to get a set of the HT 2083 lifters - but not that common out here.

ahh a learning experience
