Alright! I have most of the parts together to start rebuilding the Mustang. Here is what I have sitting in the garage: rebuilt and modified motor, complete Duraspark II with upgraded coil and control module, rebuilt power steering components, Weber 32/36 carb, and dual out headers. I will be buying new pipes and muffler system, disc brake conversion, and a complete wiring harness from Painless. I am currently stripping out the engine bay so that I can paint it.
Here are the questions:
1. Can anyone think of anything obvious I am missing?
2. For those of you who have done this type of rebuild, is there any particular order I should follow in putting the car back together? What I am looking for is any potential problems I might have if say I put the engine back in the car before attaching the headers (for example).
3. The trans is stock and needs attention. I would like to get that looked at but my budget is spent (plus some). How diffiucult is it to pull the trans later and have it rebuilt? The car has been out of service for over a year and the wife would really like to drive it come Sept.
Again, all insight is appreciated. I will be taking the boys to Scout camp for the next week so I will check post towards the end of the week.
Thanks for all the input.
