Just woundering on what sort of power every one is getting at the rears, havnt put my latest motor in yet, but old one pulled 165kw at the treads

Old set up was

redline manifold
650 double pumper
speco- xui race grind, 240 at .050 322 seat to seat. and 522 lift
c2- head cleverland valves turned down slighly on the intake, over size exhaust jobs 36 cc chambers yes u heard right lots and lots of port work
- fedrule mogual pistions dished rollers rod bolts pistons sat normal amount under the deck
i cc ed it when we pulled it down for the new engine had 11.8 :1 comp
head had had lots to much of it lost power from to much comp had to run bugger all ignition advance to stop it pinging
pace makker pipes.

ok i have 130rwkw with mild cam 600vac holley extaractors with a dual 2in exhaust. how was your car to drive whit that size cam and also what sort of gearing did you have?
thanks aaron

car was a pig, to drive, was running 3.7s with borgy 35 auto, no stall wouldnt idle in gear, had to drop it into drive, cam was xu1 race grind for a 250. reall gentle ramps on cam, less likely to chew lobes off, had 240 at .050, but 322 advertised. highly recomend this cam.. pulled good from 3 and over , average idle quality.

while i like cross flows, my mate just dynoed a 4lt speed way donk ohc. with a 500 holley on methanol it pulled 260 hp at the motor, they tried an 850 double pumper on methanol, pulled 310 hp, and 340 fp, now thats tuff, with bigger carb was better all through the rev range 2. both were jeted using a motec 02 sensor.
enigine is an ef block with xf dissy, gear turned up the other way, and redline cross flow manifold, with adaptor.

might have to do one of these next.

Hi,

That cam sounds interesting, do you have the specs for it, and when did the power peak at.

Cheers

MUST USE GOOD SPRINGS, ROLLERS , DECENT CARB, AT LEAST 10.5:1 COMP, GOOD PIPES, . MADE GOOD POWER OVER 3 AND PULLED TO 6800 BUT WAS GETTIN PRETTY LAZY UP THER , PROB STRONGEST AROUND 5300 ISH, BUT DYNO WASNT GRAPHED AGAINST ENGINE RPM SO I CARNT TELL U WHAT REVES IT PEAKED AT.
WITH GOOD FLOWING HEAD, 4 BARLE CARB, ROLLERS CARNT STRESS THAT ENUF, DONT STUFF WITH NORMAL ROCKERS, AND GET ADJUSTABLE ONES 2, THAT WAY U DONT NEED TO STUFF WITH SHIMS.
GET 2V CLEVO IN LET VALVES GET THEM TURNED DOWN PUT IN THINK THERE AROUND. 1.90-1.98 SOME WHERE IN THE4RE, GET BIGGER EXHAUST VALVES, MAKE SURE THE HEAD HAS THE CHAMBERS RELIVED AROIUND THE VALVE BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY FLOW WORSE WITH THE BIGGER VALVES IF THIS ISNT DONE. I SEE NO REASON WHY 150 KW REAR WHEEL ISNT POSSIBLE, I HAD A BIT MORE AND MY SET UP WAS DODGY AS BUT I COULD PUIT UP WITH IT. DEFF USE MANUAL OR STALL. I HAD A 650 DOUBLE PUMPER BY THE WAY, DEFFENTLY NOT AN EVERY DAY DRIVER CAM .

Thnaks for the info.

I have printed out those cam specs you posted, and might give it a go after i get sick of what i have. At the moment i am using the crow 14770 grind and dont find it to bad, i have bolted on a set of YT adjustable rollors and have made a set of guide pleates and a set of HD springs. I have a XD alloy head with the XF valves and have had it ported and about 60" Shaved off it. The bottom end has just been balanced, 60 thou
over Flat tops and a reground crank. Were you using flat top pistons and if so did you have any valve / pistons clearance problems.

At the moment i am using a holley 4 barrell 600 vac secondaries. I am unsure if i would go with a 600 DP or a triple webber set up.

I have a manual with 3.5/1 diff gears
What would you recoment to use with that cam.

Thanks for the info

Cheers

Simon

id run 3.5's or higher, i had dished pistons, but with motor now i have flat tops 200 rods and lots wilder cam, 260 at 0.50 , and 560 lift and havnt have valve clearance probs, because the angle the valves run on you shouldnt have probs.
