picked up a bonnet today

yeah that is my oil supply. what I did was use a 2.3L oil supply block. it threads into the engine and has a port for the sender to thread into and also a 1/4" inverted flare (IE brake line) port. so I just picked up some 1/4" brake line and bent it all up. some people use a -4 an line but I have had issues with them in the past and prefer a -6 feed lne

Where did you put the oil return line, in the pan? The guy im workin with wants to put it into the valve cover and I said I didnt think it was a good idea. My turbo is mounted really high tho...so who knows.

the return needs to be gravity feed with no low spots. mine goes into the pan. you can return to the pan as about the only option. to return to the vc you would need the turbo higher than the motor entirely

Thats what I figured, but I thought Ide ask to be sure. Maybe he just didnt wanna pull the pan again, lol

well it RAN!!!

but I got some issues.

1. I bought a fuel fliter that had inverted flare fittings on it and it is pissing all over the place.

2. Carb is pissing gas everywhere (holley 350) now should there be a washer under the needle adjustment on the otside of the carb?

3. carb is no idling

well I got it running kinda ok (no choke kinda sucks)

I just need to exchange a rubber coupler at the store, some little hardware (aircleaner stud/bolt, vac nipples.....little stuff) and the throttle cable and I am done!! got tomorrow free so gonna work like mad to get it finished I think

Those pics make my eyes hurt.

I don't suppose you could delete them and add something from a more steady camera?

For cold start - - go to the junkyard and get a cold start injector from a Toyota, then add that to the bonnet. Get one that will spray in the right direction, there are several styles.

Wire it to a momentary push button on the dash and you are all set. You could also wire in a DPDT switch into the horn button circuit (horn switch in steering wheel grounds to activate) and you could do the same thing for the cold start injector.

Flip the switch, and when you start the car you just push the horn button a few times for fuel, and as it is warming up. It works great.
Then flip switch the other way for horn while driving.

well I will swap them out tomorrow....I didn't notice they were that bad until they were posted....looked fine in thumbnails. all dark outside now so I will leave them until morning

I have a fuel nozzle for a nitrous setup I was thinking of doing that with. I had planned on using it for fuel under boost but it may jsut work out nice as a "choke"

Either way, but make sure you use a small jet. The toyota cold start injectors are perfect. A lot of european cars (saab, volvo, bmw, etc) also used them.

Ok, I've been intrigued for a while. How are you guys getting turbos to run well with carbs. I was planning on doing a turbo on my six but when I started doing the research everyone was saying "noooo, a turbo won't work right with carbs, only EFI"
What am I not being told?

well I wouldn't say mine is running well.....I can't get an idle for crap right now and it has yet to move under its own power.....hopefully it will tonight

Ok...there better be a post of success sometime in the near future fairlane!!! I have been busy alot lately so I havnt had time to really go thru the new stuff goin on. Good to hear its at least running! Good luck and let us all know how it went
