Plug wires

What is a good plug wire to use with the large cap distributor ? I have an Accel 300+ digital box hooked up to the distributor in my 1978 200 cid engine

Where are the spark plug heat rating charts?

I have a Champion RF 18YC plug out of this 200cid engine. I may need a step colder plug since I raised the compression to 9.5

My 2 cents, your results may vary.

After many years of using the expensive and oversized stuff I started buying the standard ones and other than saving lots of money have not really noticed a difference. None of them seem to fit exactly right so if you care about how they look get one of the sets that you cut to length and crimp the ends on yourself. The last year or two I have been getting the standard (maybe they call em preimum?) belden sets from napa. The seem to have a nice tough insulation and are a dark blue with white lettering that looks pretty good on most engines also. Unless I see signs of them not lasting I plan to buy those until they change vendors or quality which could be any day the way things are now days.

Howdy Back Tony:

Plug wires- Look for any customs that specify "Spirol Core" in the description. Lesser wires have a carbon impregnated fiber strand of some sort that will eventually break down. Any with spiral core are the next best thing to solid wire, but without the radio interference. They are more expensive than carbon cores, but worth it IMHO.

Spark plugs. I use the Champions too as they have one of the most projected tips in the industry. IIRC I use 18s in the winter and 14s in the summer in my 250.

Adios, David

I'm running the 8MM Accels as well, mainly because they were pre cut. My last set I cut myself and had a hell of a time doing them. This time, it wasn't worth the effort.
