Im almost done setting up my MSD SF. the only thing im missing is spark plug wires. the instructions said i need a specific kind. i was going to buy a universal wire set from accel would it work? what kind of wires are u guys using for your MSD set ups. oh and one more thing in order to hook to the two pick up wires it says to hook to in the instructions will i have to cut the wires, the kit came with couplers to slide the ends of the wires into.

The Accel wires will work fine. The last wires I bought where MSD SF and I like them better than the Accel wires, but any good wire set from Accel, MSD, Mallory, Summit, or Jegs will work fine.

As for your pick up. I didn't want to cut the factory end off of my dissy so if I ever got in a jam I could go back to a DS2 box with out a lot of hassle. So I just cut the end off of a old DS2 box and hooked it to my leads from my Mallory.

u totaly lost me on the last part :? . im hooking up my msd to a DS2 distributor. sombody posted a diagram of it. let me see if i can locate it

I didn't want to splice the wires going into my distributor like that. So instead of cutting my distributor leads I cut the plug from an old DS2 box and soldered the green and violet wires to it, then wrapped it with shrink wrap. Sorry for the confusion.

Use whatever the instructions said to use.

I put female slide connecters on my pick-up wires and plugged it up to the dizzy. If you wanted a slicker looking set up you could cut the male connecter for the dizzy off of a junk yard doner, but not necessary.

Like the MSD instructions say, get MSD harness 8869, it will plug directly into your MSD on one end and directly into your DS2 distributor on the other end. It's the cleanest and best way to go.
