I have a problem that I need some help in solving. My power steering pump has started leaking like crazy. I checked a local auto parts store, and they have a rebuilt pump, but the filler tube is thin compared to mine, and I would like mine to look original if possible.
I notice that some Mustang parts dealers sell seal kits for the pump, that look like a couple of gaskets or O-rings. Other then the leak, it is working fine. Should I replace the seals or replace the whole pump since it is pushing fourty years old? Can I get a rebuilt pump and put my old housing with the large filler tube on the new pump? Is it any big deal to put in new seals in my old pump? What would you do if you had this problem? Thanks for your help!
