Hey guys im in need of a corty pre Xflow sump im in Adelaide. Any help would be great. Cheers Steve

Yeah i almost got a Xflow one out at the wreckers but need to lift the engine a little to massage it out.
Saw my motor yesterday. Block, pisons, rod, caps, pick up all in. Heads been done.
New water and oil pump, balancer, machined flywheel big dollar dizzy all ready to go. Ohh and the cam and double row chain fitted.
Felling pretty horn bout it right now and ive been waiting so bloody long!!
Still need mounts, plugs and leads and a fuel pump.
Just the sump thats holding me back now. Any help would be great cheers Steve

Pay before you play.

You can do anything, but the Ford Cortina I6 part, pick-up and dipstick will work the first time.

Using, say, a Bronco or reversed Falcon sump will still not work unless you do the tin work in the engine bay your self. Anti roll bar, steering rack and the early IFS crossmember are in different positions on the Cortina. An old I6 block and Cortina engine bay is not hard to cobble up, and you can even use the old Cortina 4 sump to cut and shut to the Falcon one (2.0 OHC Cortinas take as much oil as an ohv 4.1), but its not always as easy as you think.

I've been looking at X-flow BDA Escort style dry sump systems where a flat alloy pan can be placed under the sump, but its easier and safer and way cheeper to use the Cortina I6 item. The costs and risks of sumps are just huge if they don't self clean, and if the pickup doesn't have the right new black anodised screen the right space from the sump floor, you could end up in an akward pickle.

Looks like i might have got one from interstate coming my way.Cheers drift.
I still cant believe there isnt one in Adelaide.

I wont be mucking around with sumps after your advice X. Ive waited so long for this motor and had enough head roots to convince me to build the next motor myself.
Ive got a few bits (the 200 block and 250 crank)
ive got the fordsix bible
ive even got the tools and
i think ive got the brains :D

Cheers Steve

Never thought of that, good idea Sonny. Thanks. To simsys i go.
Still in shock that i cant get one in Adelaide. I know of 10 Corties in yards none of them 6 cyl :x
looks like all the sixes are now thrashed to their deaths or kept and restored, worked etc. Nobody wants the fours. I think they still go pretty good and the 2ltr OHC is a great motor.
Also I should be looking in the backyards of all the idiots who have put eights into them.
Ive now got 3 inlines but only one Corty sump, Steve

i only have 1 spare but if you want it i'll sell it for $25 plus post which would be around $20.i can send it by the end of the week if ya want it.

mate you need the sump, pick up, also the big end bolts and the little bolts that bolt the pick up onto the big end bolts. i have a cortina 2v motor sitting here and swapped the sump for an xy one which i needed. also you have to drill ahole near the oil pressure switch for the dipstick if you havent got one there already. the cortina sumps are double humped. the front hump is shallower than the rear one.
