Finally got the new exhaust fitted to the XR over the weekend . I had the guy at the local exhaust shop fit it up . I dropped off the car , pipe, mufflers and a series of bends i had purchased...umm...3 years ago , Pretty slow progress . The guy at Pitstop ( kerry, Grey Lynn branch)did an awsome job . What i had though out for the exhaust using all these bends was totally different to how a proffesional approached it . We didnt use any of the bends as he used his fancy bending machine and tucked the exhaust in exactly where it needed to go . Only problem is it sounds to quiet now , but it will be easy to remove one of the mufflers to give it a bit more noise . I went with 2 1/4 pipe as i found my old XD had a bit of drone with the 2 1/2 . Next stop is the brakes . The rear drums have such a lip i cant adjust them properly and managed a 20 meter skid down my steep driveway just gently touchin the brakes before puttin it on the trailer .
