i went to napa and i wanted to order a new carb for my car i get a big discount there so i want to use napa. they came up with three (3) carbs from a 66 200ci mustang. the autolite 1100 ,a holley 1100 and a, new holley 1100 the autolite is the most and the new nolley is the cheapest. my car came equipped with the autolite 1100 but can i use either of these carbs? does the holley work better then the other? thanks guys

If it's really an 1100 model then it's an Autolite and not a Holley. You may want to have you parts guy clarify (if he can....) which is which. Holley has a carb rebuilding facility and sells rebuilt carbs (such as a rebuilt Autolite 1100 in a Holley box). There is also a Holley carburetor that is a direct replacement for an 1100 Autolite. That would be the Holley 1946 carburetor. Holley also rebuild these carbs (of their own design). There may be a part number for a NEW 1946 Holley coming up in the NAPA catalog, but I doubt there are any left in NAPA wharehouses, because I'm pretty sure Holley quit making those years and years ago.

IMO, go with the rebuilt Holley 1946. They've been a lot more dependable than Autolite 1100s.

do the conversion....

with gas prices as they are....now is the time

i think most 2 barrels will work.... just be careful it isnt too high a cfm....these 6's can only use some much...any more would be a waste
