Hi everyone. Ok my car still will not stay running unless the choke is on. I fixed whatever vacuum leaks i could find. Could the rockers arms not being tight enough cause it not stay running? I cant really adjust them like they should be till it keeps running right? Or can i ?

Thanks

Similiar thing happened to me last night. On the way back from driving it for 2 hours, it decided it would want to stay running the last 30 minutes home. I had to keep the gas revving to keep it running. To do any checks, I had to force the choke on.

I swapped carbs and it started running again perfectly. I either had a clogged fuel filter at the carb (though no likely since it drained just fine) or a clogged idle circuit. That's probably your probably if you've fixed the vacuum leak.

Does this car have hydraulic or solid lifters?

Does it rattle like a car does when its low on oil?

If it has hydraulic lifters the lifters should pump up tp take out the slack. If it is mechanical and they are loose it should rattle to beat the band.

Either way it may not run well but it should idle.

Well i will recheck again for vacuum leaks and change to one of the other weber carbs to the center. My lifters are hydrolic.
