O.K. Had about 3 hours sleep when this occured to me. Will probably sound dumb in the morning.

There was mention of putting motorcycle heads, harley maybe, on a six in another thread. Got to thinking , why not put them on cylinders 1, 3, and 5. Then equip 2, 4, and 6 with reed valves and use them to compress air for the other 3. Sort of a built in supercharging setup.

The 2 stroke should let it do twice as much air for the same rpm's. Would it be enough? Think it over, I'm going back to bed now.

Nope just haven't slept well for about two weeks, going on three now.

I actually started thinking about a conversion that I'd once heard of that turned half of a flathead v8 into an air compressor powered by the other half that still ran as a motor. Then one thing led to another, and pretty soon 2+2=5.9462

Still it makes for something interesting to think about. You wouldn't make even the same power as a stock 300, but would you make useable boost? Would it even run at all, and just how bad is that thing gonna shake?
