realistic limitations

Ok well i'm trying to figure out what path i wish to take in the continuation of the 200 in my 65 falcon. Especially now that i have a new gas tank and everything is working great. So far i'm very impressed with the fairly stock 200 (pertronix, thats about it) and its accelleration in speeds under 45mph. However the top end is of course a bit lacking, and in third gear it revs up extremely slow (though so far hits about 85 or 90 around 4krpm).

So basically i'm wondering what i could expect from an NA build with my stock internals. If i got a dual out header, and true dual exhaust. Then maybe a two barrel (not sure cause my pony carbs 1 barrel works great) how hard would it be to get it up to 130 or maybe 140 flywheel HP (i figure that would put me about 95 Rear wheel HP). I'd also assume down low would be boosted a little by the exhaust, but so far is appeared to be more then enough (cruising along uphill at 45mph and 1500rpms seems to be quite nice).

So yeah what could i realisitically expect from stock internals and external upgrades.

the header and 2bbl carb will definetly give you a better kick in the pants i'm not sure how realistic that hp is at the flywheel if you still have the bone stock head because bottom line in it's stock shape it's very restrictive if you got it polished a valve job with a small cam and larger valves or even and aussie or aluminum head them you could talk serious hp. :D

heres a link i posted under hardcore inline tech :

but in the 60's they were getting 110/125 rear wheel hp in a daily driver mustang( but with a lot of carb area)

for further info how AK miller did up the ford six have a look at this link :

specifically the pages 'horsin around with the mustang six'
and modifying the falcon six.

WOW!!

thanks for that link, great read, so far it looks like i could get some pretty good gains without changing the internals and just tuning the carb and a good exhaust :).

Still reading more too, but so far its got me pretty stoked, if my falcon is as quick as it is with only 60rwhp, then it would be a blast with 80 or 90rwhp. Now if only i could get the JC i attend to let me use thier smog dyno to get readings :P.
