I am in the process of installing AC on my 200 six and want to use a Sanden 508 compressor mounted on the original OEM AC bracket. Does anyone have any pics of this conversion? I am able to mod the orginal bracket but need a little guidance in what mods to make.
Any help will be appericated.

I've got Nostalgic Air Parts A/C in my Falcon, and the brackets are solid and well engineered. That being said, I've also seen adapters on ebay for modifying the oem bracket to handle a sanden.

Right. Those also keep the A/C hoses in more or less the same place. Seems like a simpler conversion to me.

If you have access to a welder, a adapter bracket as good or better can be easily made.
The sanden-->york adapter I made allows about 6 inches of lateral adjustment for header clearance.

Thank you all for your inputs but RICKWRENCH suggested exactly what I wanted to hear. I have welder, plasma cutter, torches, everything I need to build or modify whatever I need to modify or build.RICKWRENCH do you have any pics of your setup?

You can barely of see the adapter in one of my a/c pics sitting under the compressor. Unfortunately, the adapter was one of the many Squire projects I completed without taking a single picture.
edit-
I made a quickie pencil drawing of what it looked like (sort of), and the slots that were either already there, or that I elongated (can't remember) in the stock bracket. The bracket is a compressor on top/ alternator on bottom.

The drawing is a top view on the left.

Does any one have a picture of the stock York compressor mounting system for a '66 Mustang. The manuals & catalogs do not have any 6 cylinder information and most coffee table books omit 6 cyl cars.
I installed a stock AC system years ago but have never been able to come up with a brace that helps stabilize the top of the compressor. I have never seen one. I suspect I possibly may have been sold a compressor bracket for different vehicle. I think it mounts in the correct place with the compressor up by the exhaust manifold and the alternator hanging below. However, it has horizontal adjustment and right now I must rely on the bottom bolts in the compressor case to support all of the belt load. There is no belt tensioner etc.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks alot RICKWRENCH That is exactly what I need to Fab. I have the original Ford Compressor/Alternator bracket Part # C5DA-2882-B. I bought bracket, fan, fan spacer, pulleys and all hardware from a guy going to a V8. Cost me $75, which I thought was a steal. By the way, it all came off a Mustang and I have a 66 Fairlane.

Thanks again
Jerry
