I'm putting an 82 head on my 66 200. It's been milled and I need a 7.80" pushrod. I actually have some from another past project but they have a hole in them for pushrod oiling. Does this matter with the 200? I assume it oils the rocker gear in some other manner than through the lifters. Thanks.

Must be solid lifters for the pushrods to be that short
The rockers are oiled thru the shaft.

Have you looked at Smith Brothers pushrods? They have fast turn around times and are a good company. I have not used them specifically on the inline 6, but have for other projects and quality and customer service is top notch.

Let me know how you like them, I have two custom sets in other projects and they are made right here in central Oregon, so American made.

Isn't 7.80 .55 shorter than a stock hydraulic lifter pushrod 8.350?
That's over half inch shorter.
The Melling MPR81 solid lifter pushrod is 7.857

This is why people use the adjustable rocker assembly even with hydraulic lifters - you can make up for milled heads, different valves, etc.

I don't think a head can be milled .55" which is over 1/2".

"I have a '66 200 that is getting an '82 head. The head is milled .070 and I'll be using a Felpro gasket. The net change the lifter will see will be about .050 more preload. Rockers are non-adjustable."
