Really started putting things together today...

I know because the machinist called me five times...
He has not called me five times in the last four months we have been working on this project...

First Road block...
The schneider cam had a tap on it that was reverse of the cam I had... changed over to different bolts.. no problem, just required a little searching.
Second... we took 30 thou off the block :shock:
Final bore of .040 over... and final measure on the chambers in the morning...
Test fit and assembly... then put it together for real...

Picking it up on Friday afternoon around 2:30EST...
bet you will see some dial-up heavy posts from me Friday night and Saturday when we drop it in... :lol:

Pulled engine on 2/11/03... installed (Hopefully) on 7/26/03 (my birthday is Tue...)
This took a lot longer than the five weeks I told the wife it would take...

Gonna have to drive it and leave it alone for a while after this...

Thanks to all who have helped along the way...
I was so close to selling it before I decided to keep it forever...
FSP I owe you all a major debt of THANKS!!!! :wink:

Guess its a good time to say "Happy Birthday". What a great birthday present. May it be the best ever. :wink:

Jimbo, you're an inspiration. Fire wood heats twice as much...when you pack it yourself!

May it haul a$$ like like a Thoroughbread
(sp again, gesh)

Jimbo, you time line sounds like mine. I pulled my engine a few days before christmas, told my wife the car would be back together and running by the end of January. Finally got the car on the road in May.

Golden rule of work on a mustang:
((Estimated time) * 3)+7 (of what ever units)

Howdy All:

Murphy's laws of engine building/projects-
*How ever long it takes, it takes longer.
*How ever much it costs, it costs more.
*Anything that can go wrong will.
*Of all the things that can go wrong, the one that will cost the most and take the longest is the one that will occur.

Enjoy the journey. Better yet enjoy the results.

Adios, David

If you fail to plan carefully, everything will take three times longer than expected. If you plan every detail meticulously, it will only take twice as long.

The "Contractor's Estimating Formula" is derived from this:

T=B X 2 + 20%

where
T=total project length
B=best estimate
2=universal builder's estimating constant
20%=profit margin

Jimbo, Happy Birthday! Glad to see your finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
That five weeks, that's just what you told your wife, right? You didn't think that yourself, did you? :lol:

Happy Birthday!!! :D :D :D
Enjoyed visiting with you and your dad. He deserves kudos for letting you hog his garage this long. :wink:
P.S.: In Chesapeake, VA now. Depart for Sun Bright (near Knoxville), TN tomorrow. :D

Wow... thanks for the birthday remarks...

I know it will be a great weekend....
I am not planning on actually getting anything running this weekend... but getting it in the car is my goal....

I figure if I install the T5 and have everything swinging on the hoist Friday night I can drop it in on Sat. morning and spend the rest of the day hooking up externals...

Run the exhaust next week... have the driveshaft cut and install soon there after....

Yes the wife has mixed feelings.... she likes the Mustang... is glad I found FSP to help out with the advice and support... but she also knows you all put ideas in my head according to her.... and yes I told her the Five-week timeline. But I knew better.... :lol:

Red... it was great meeting you too... hope the rest of the trip is great....

Thanks
