Is anybody running one of these? Any hood clearance issues?
I have a 67 mustang with an OZ head and intake with a autolite 2100. I just want to know if i'd have any issue using one of these. They make one powder coated blue that would match with everything on my engine perfectly!
Thank

yes i have one, to make mine fit i had to use the old bottom of the air filter assembly and cut it to fit inside of the specture then i used epoxy to seal it, but im running a holley 1940, what are you running?

I think that'll hit the hood. I have a 68 and had to run the low profile one to get the clearance. Where do you plan on having it dump out? Mine used to across the valve cover but with the Oz head it wont work that way. Temporarily it is aimed at the battery which won't let me use my brace :? I'm still trying to work out tuning issues so I haven't played with it much.

ahhhh. well, i guess the low-pro one it will have to be. I planned on aiming it towards the battery then using a 90 bend towards the cold side of the motor. either that or experimenting to find a way to get it over the valve cover.
thanks guys

RGR on that. The ones ANULSHAC listed might not work too well either.

This is the one I used. Unfortunately, when I swapped heads it didn't workout quite as well. Given the years of our cars, you will run into the same problems. If you use a modified log head this thing goes right over the valve cover and you're all set. Australian head brings some problems. I'd really like to get it in there with the monte carlo bar but I'm not sure that is going to happen :? Best of luck to you and you have the best folks helping you out. Promise me if you come up with a solution you'll shoot me a PM? That monte carlo bar makes a HUGE difference. Laterz!

Instead of getting plenum over valve cover have you considered adding a carb spacer to raise the carb up to clear valve cover?

I myself have used two phenolic resin gaskets before as a spacer.

You could try what I did. http://www.savoiagraphics.com/Mustang/Album1.htm Click on the 9th & 10th picture. It is a K & N hat that I stipped down and then painted the ribs.

That is EXACTLY where I want it. With the old head and an adapter it fell right over there. That hat looks bigger than mine? Mine is like a pancake. Dog gone that looks good!!

Is it possible a 65 has more hood clearance?

JMG, is that what you are after? Mine shoots right at the battery. If I could oval the end out on the one I have now and use a flex hose (which I have) I could do that.

Shoot, there is a full size air cleaner on 65's engine. I can't even do that, no room. :(

That exactly what I'm looking for! I just can't hardly believe how pricey some of these things are...

Yup, pricey they are! ;) I don't think I could fit that big a hat under the hood :( That would be the ultimate set up though.
