Stupid Mistake: Carb Part?

I was working on the carburetor on my '66 6-cyclinder the otherday, I took off the fuel filter to replace it. When I screwed the new one in, I broke it off. The question is what is the name of that part that I the fuel filter feeds into? I've looked around and can't seem to find the name of it or the part anywhere, if anyone can help the ol' 66 and I would greatly appreciate it.

did you break the fuel filter or the carb? if it was the fuel filter then just take a screwdriver and hit it in there a couple times(not to hard) and screw the broken piece out. if it was the carb body then i can't help ya. i broke three of those freaking fuel filters off before i got one on there. cheap japanese parts.

Probably it's the inlet needle seat. Comes as an assembly with the needle and often a wire gauze filter disc inbetween.

Are you referring to an adaptor between the filter and the carb? The one on mine looks brass and screws into the carb.
I have broken a filter off on one before. Some filters seem cheaply made, so you got to be careful putting them in and yet not too loosely that they would leak.

Yes I am talking about the adapter piece, does anyone know what that is called cause it is all torn up from trying to get the fuel filter out of there?

Joey, is it possible for you to get a picture of what you are referring to specifically. Did the picture that addo provided look like what you were referring to? Mine looks similar. I dont recall any needles in it though

What addo posted pic shows is the needel and seat what Joey broke was the fuel inlet adaptor, on the outside of the carb where the fuel line comes in at.. You should be able to find that part Joey I would think maybe Napa or a brass fitting store and such.

i don't know the name but i did the same thing. if i got you right it's the brass fitting with the valve on the end that the float turns on and off. if that's the thing then go to NAPA and ask for a rebuild kit, look in there there should be a new one. I have a holley 1940 and the napa rebuild kit actually came with one. i didn't know this at the time i broke it so i actually had to lathe the fuel filter thread out of the fitting.

Ok, I wasnt sure about the scale of addo's pic... but the shape of the brass part looked a lot like the part that the fuel filter screws into.
