I have taken my head bolts out, but I can not lift the head out of the car is their a easy for one person to do this?

are you sure you have taken them all out, there is one between the carb and valve cover, you may have missed it,if you are sure you have gotten them all you might have to tap on the head with rubber mallet

From memory, the complete head with cast exhaust weighs around 70 pounds.

Count the 14 head bolts removed and all fuel/vacuum lines are unhooked. Carb linkages off, too.

Now it may be needed to "crack" the seal if it's been on a long while. With your rocker assembly removed, fuel line diverted into a jar and coil lead grounded out, crank the motor two or three times. You'll need the spark plugs in tight for this to work.

Failing this, sharp upwards raps on the underside of the log with a copperfaced hammer should do it - there are no dowel sleeves like an eight had.

Cheers, Adam.

I actually just did this a couple weeks ago. Did you get the head free? There are a couple points on the spark plug side of the head you can safely pry. I took it out with the exhaust manifold still on. I actually climbed inside of the engine bay, putting each of my feet on their respective engine mount. Sat on the radiator and rad support. Lifted the head onto my lap, swung my right foot out of the bay and my left followed. Slide right off the car, head still in my arms. I often don't have help, so sometimes you have to get creative. Hope this helps.

You'll probably want to loosely thread a couple of bolts back in before you do this.
