Sucess but a few more questions

I got my head back yesterday and installed it. This morning I adjusted the rocker arms (I have hydraulic lifters with an adjustable rocker arm) then crossed my fingers and cranked it over, after fixing some bad battery grounds it fired up. My question is- the head had new valve guides, the exhaust valves and seats are all new, head had 25 thou taken off. I installed new rings and con rod bearings plus I replaced the timing chain. Should I follow any particular break in procedure? Should I re adjust the rocker arms after it has run for awhile?--Lenny

Run it for 100 miles then change the oil and filter.

Some here would recommend checking the adjustment, but can't tell you at what mileage.

Its cams/lifters and rings that really need the special break ins. What you listed being done should be fine. Just take it easy for a while and keep a close eye on fluids.

I followed my cam break in instructions when I did what you did. If I recall, it entailed running it at idle for 2 minutes, then 2000 RPM for 5 minutes. After that, I followed typical new car procedures. Oil/Filter at 500 miles, then 2500 miles, then to my 5k mile interval. I avoided high revs for the first 1000 miles.
