For ignition upgrades:
Certainly the "slickest" package is the integrated distributor/coil made by DUI. It's also near the top in price.
Cheapest would probably be the Pertronix. Also it's the simplest to fit. I personally don't like this product because I've noticed a significant number of failed units, and a lack of tech support other than a willingness to exchange faulty ones. Hindsight suggests at one point they had definitely released a problematic batch of ignition units, and yet made no effort to bulk recall...
Mid-budget is a Ford Duraspark distributor, with a GM ignition module, and a Ford TFI coil. You will have to dig into the Duraspark even if bought "rebuilt", as they are well-documented to arrive incorrectly calibrated. It's not very hard or expensive to sort out. Also, a genuine Delco GM ignition module is likely superior to the odd brands sometimes sold in parts stores.
Dearest setup is the Ford Duraspark, with aftermarket hot coil and an MSD 6A ignition box. I say dearest assuming all parts are bought new or reconditioned, and correctly adjusted.
The header you have is fine, and overall mileage is low so there should be no big wear issues to deal with.
In order of operation I personally would change the ignition, then the cam/timing set. Only after that would I worry about the carb. Your motor won't blow up if it's undercarbed.
