hello all, is it true that if i swap heads( C0DE TO E0DE) That i will need to change dizzy.also, what are necessary and/or recomended mods. to make swap work???? 1st time poster :?:

nope, you won't have to swap the dizzy, although if you haven't upgraded away from the points you might want to anyways, you can get away from points with the Duraspark II system, or the Petronix system

you might need to worry about the compression ratios for it though

as for other mods to go with it....
have you bought the Ford Six Handbook yet?
check in the shop section of the homepage, you should find it pretty easily, it should outline a good amount of steps
in the meantime, try searching through the past posts, i can almost guarantee that someone on here has done exactly what you want to do, or close enough to it that you'll be able to follow almost all of what they did

what car do you have?

I have 65 mustang coupe 200 cu.,clifford headers w/ single out,petronix ign. and coil.

Randall,

Unless you plan to use the same Autolite 1100 carb (basically defeating the purpose of swapping heads) then you will need to upgrade to a later distributor with mechanical advance.

what are your reasons for swaping heads?

do you have one available? you CAN get a lot more performance form teh stock 200...with some head work.

do you have nay pikturs we's love pikturs...

welcome..

a lot of new people recently...

Just out of curiosity...when did they enlarge the intake hole? isn't the E0 head the larger 1.75" vice the 1.5" of the C0 so the carb will have to be changed as well.

Also, do look at the different CRs of the heads. The C0 I think has a higher stock CR, but the E0 head will have larger valves (or room for them at least).

I don't have the Falcon 6 bible infront of me...so correct me if I'm wrong as I haven't read it in the last 6 months.

yeah yeah...I usually read it every 6 months...but since going Aussie style and focusing on suspension stuff, it's been collecting dust.

The C0 head (a 144 head... not what would have come on a ´65 200 motor) has the small carb throat. They went to the 1.75¨ throat in ´70 on the 200. The bolt pattern on the carbs is still the same however.

The EO head will have much larger chambers... at least 15ccs more.

well if you also have a 1960 block you are stuck with the vac advance dizzy no matter what do to the smaller bore in the block for the shaft.

Except that you could fit a later oil pump and drive shaft, reuse the original pickup, and reduce the pilot diameter on a DS-II. Not exactly challenging stuff.
