Curtis,
I recently bought a one owner 1964 I6(200) 4 door with about 70K miles on it plus a donor vehicle, less motor and trans, for $350. Clean title.
However the fellow I bought it from has also sold me other vehicles in that price range so we kinda have a 'working' relation.
I got a Ford 9" LS 4.10 rear end for $75(real good deal I think!) from this same person.
I think the basic price here in the Ky, southern IN and IL area is about $500.
If it needs any work at all, the time and cost mount up very quickly.
If you don't mind writing expenses off as entertainment, then you won't have as much a problem with cost justification.
I set a price I feel a car in good condition would be worth.
Then as I go over the available car, subtract from that value the cost of needed parts, tools and time.
What you have left should approximate the as is value of what you are appraising.
Don't know if these wanderings help or not.
Thanks.
