throttle cable - what to do for kickdown?

now that I've got my new carb, gas pedal, and my throttle cable, I'm all ready to hook it up - but what about the kickdown cable? How am i going to keep that working? I know some of you have done it, but not sure how.

lokar sells a universal kit for c4's and others probably but i just down shift on the colom myself. when your heavy on the throttle put it in 2 untill you get to about 40mph. i think thats how it works.

It's a floor shift - I wonder...it's a "green dot" trans, so the green dot goes 1-2-3 in that order, but "D" goes 2-3 in that order. That might help, if I just throw it up into D from Green...

Well, I already bought my kit, so too late for the lokar kit.
