Timing For Crossflow ?

Can someone tell me what the timing should be set at on a stock 250 crossflow? I've never had a light on this motor and thought I should take a look. The motor is all stock except intake and carb. Thanks,

ford says it should be 4-6 deg btdc but there sluggish at that and run much crisper/rev better at 8-10 deg btdc.i think they ford gave there figure for waranty etc reasons.i have always run my motors at at 8-10 deg and never had any trouble.

mines at 14 degrees on straight gas and she loves it.. doesnt run on, doesnt ping.. good power increase too.
