New here, so don't ream me a new one just yet, but I just got my old 65 stang back that I had in high school. My buddy hasn't dug up the manual yet and isn't coming into town until Sunday. So I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I need the tightening sequence and torque spec for the exhaust manifold.
Thanks, Brian

Also, does anyone make the gasket that goes between the head and the manifold?

From the 66 Ford shop manual:

13-18 Ftlbs and they dont give a special sequence. Like most long things I would start in the middle and zig zag my way to the ends in a step or two.

Fel-Pro still makes the gasket, should be able to get it from just about any auto parts store although it may not be in stock. The typical mustang vendors seem to have them on hand. I got some bolts called ramp lock when I bought my new manifold and stuff from Mustangs Unlimited.

If its making noise check for cracks they seem to crack in the back side of the middle.

Here is a shot of mine when I got the car, plan was a new gasket would buy me some time since the cracks looked to be pretty minor untill I got it off and saw the back side.

Looks pretty standard from what I've seen. The wall between 3 and 4 is burned thorugh and the cracks just seem to open up when you take it off the block. If you lay it down on a flat surface with the outlet flanges down it will probably rock uo and down. No need to mill it. Just put it back on carefully and crank it down to spec. They also sound kind of punky instead of ringing. Don't drop it or you'll be getting another one for sure.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, the one that was one it was split right in half with more cracks appearing. LOL buddy said to JB weld it up. I'll save my self the effort and buy a new one that won't split right off.
