With out any fuel or driver what would an XE ute weigh ?

Thanks Joip

The XF 4.1 4-Spd single rail ute was rated at 1400 kg's in my 1987 Wheels Ute vs Japs article, which really suprised me, but I'm certain the XE 3.3 ute was 1340 kg, about 20 kg up on the 3.3 sedan, which ran lightweight Sigma/Corona gearboxes.

There was a heap of sound deadning added in 1983 when the EFI engine came in as the Noise Vibration and Harshness engineers got busy on making it quieter.

The longer wheelbase, leaf sprung axle and need to use some of the metal tanks left over from the early X-series Falcons poured on the beaf. There was a 750 kg load capacity to take care of, so the tyre well and floor were heavy duty XA/B/C carryovers. The plastic sedan fuel tank is only 63 litres, the ute is 68 or so, maybee 77 can't remember.

Hope 1340 kilos is light enough for you. With power steering, the better 4.1 4-speed it could go higher.

How about 1440kg for a ZC Fairlane with a 250 2V, C4 column shift auto.

No air or power steering

Sounds great.

Base Falcon XE sedans were 1320 kg, but EFI, ps, a/c and long range tank made 'em 1435 kg in a couple of ticks of the Ford Dealer Order Form.

The lightest 351 was the XD S-Pack AT 1450 KG.

The lightest Oz V8 was the 1966 XR 289 1971 XY -302'S at 1290- 1320 Kgs.

Now, the 2004 BA XT goes from a portly 1650 kilos to well over 1800 kilos in the transition from 4.0 dohc to 5.4 quad cam. And your ZC is much bigger!

Duoh!, nothing new since Henry...
