Tranny Question

Ok there, First off ive yanked out the engine now

I plan to re-build that it's a 200cid but the main question comes from the tranny


The Numbers read C0DA 7006-A, So it's a 1960 Trans on a '65 200cid.

I need to know if this trans is going to be strong enough to handle a slightly modded 200 that will about once a month tow a 3000-3500lbs load (aside from the car)

Or should I really consider a swap to an auto or a diffrent tranny?

That's a 2.77 in the photo. Not that strong with a tiny clutch disc. If you are going to tow that much weight, I think you would be better served by a C4 and a big transmission cooler.

none what so ever, (aside from being 19 and not having much free money after insurance and gas prices as of late)

I was curious as to how strong the 3 speed would be. Since I found its a 60 tranny and ment for the 144 i wouldnt be to supprised to find it unable to do what I would need.

I can very easly get a C4, but then how would I go about attaching it to the 200? Are there any articles about swaping a Six to a C4?

the C4 was a stock option for the six throughout most of it's life
it should be as easy as snagging one from the 'yard along with the flexplate and whatnot
