Hi all,

I have just purchased a 1979 G60 Patrol with a 250 Alloy head crossflow pre fuel injection with Weber carb. However it is running really rough and not wanting to idle.

Is there anyone around Sydney that knows there stuff about 250 Crossflows. I am also wanting to get a little more power out of it for towing and off-road use.

Also is a C4 auto able to be bolted up to 250 crossflow with easy.

I have also prepared myself for the comments of disapproval due the patrol and ford combination.

Thanks James

C4 will bolt up easy. You need a C4, a zero balance flexplate (important!), a standard converter, also be sure to get the dipstick and tube. Cooler lines may not match up in length to a BW40 setup if that's what you're removing.

Some people call it a C9 or something - it's the same tranny though.

Where in Sydney are you?

Currently I have an alloy head 250 crossflow bolted to the original Nissan G60 3 speed and I want to lose the 3 speed and move to an auto but I dont want to lose the 250 crossflow as they are a great motor as I had one years ago in a worked XE.

I am in the parramatta/westmead area.

Thanks James

OK, There is a shop in the complex at end of Romford Rd Blacktown:

Vince's Advanced Automatic Transmission
Unit 12/ 11 Romford Rd Blacktown 2148 (02) 9831 8253

The owner is a Ford man, and familiar with the C4. The swap won't be dirt cheap but his work was consistent when I had dealings with him.

Cheers, Adam.
