Turbo or Tri power?

Hello im trying to decide on tri power or turbo for my 67 I6 200 mustang. I would use a offenhauser setup for the tri power. Anybody had any experience with them or doing the same thing? And if you do have tripower what is your mpg around I don't want to get it ready and figure out i have no money left for gas. For turbo i would love to do this but im not sure exactly how to start. I know i would have to a blow through carb and rebuild the engine so it can handle. But as far as what turbo to get or carb or where for that matter i have no idea. Also which one would produce more power? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

With the tri-power, cam ,performance exhaust and a little head work you are about in the 155 hp range. The tri-power in my 64 with c4 trans and 3.20 gears does about 20 mpg .with new parts the tri-power setup will cost around $1150.00 parts and machine work to R&R the head yourself.same power could be had with a turbo with around 7 or 8 # boost with used parts and a welder you should be able to put something together for $400.00 or less.for the cool factor tri-power wins, power per dollar turbo. Check the (boost) section of this forum for the sticky on turbocharging.

Another issue with the tri-power is the need to constantly tune it and keep it working properly. You will still run into that with the turbo so long as you run a carbed vehicle, but you won't have to sync multiple carburetors together

the 3 1bbls are nice for the wow factor at car shows or on a car that you put few miles on a year.but if your using it for more..upgrade to a 2 bbl and other mods..

sounds much better to turbo an efi then. would supercharge be the way to go w/the carb then?

I should have said "so long as you have a carb you're going to have to tinker with it"

Carbs are fickle little beasties at times, one of them is going to be much less maintenance than three, no matter if that one is on a NA or any type of Forced Induction engine

Yeah ive already been messing with my stock 1100 autolite carb for awhile now just to get it running. Which if anyone knows do you adjust the float up or down to let more fuel in? And for a supercharger i believe you would have to hook up a whole pulley specifically for the supercharger. Im going to upgrade to a weber 2 bbrl with the adaptor. So im planning my turbo set up now. Anybody have any ideas what turbo would be best? I don't really want to rebuild the motor. I was thinking of just putting in 8psi.

your best bet is to post in the turbo section, let them know what specs your engine is built to, and go from there

Correct float level is anywhere from 1" to 1-3/32" (the closer to 1" will let more gas in, but be careful not to create a 'flooding' condition)
