Just an update to let you all know that I gave up on the block off plates and Weber 2 bbl. Tried a 32/36 and a DGES, but neither would sustain an idle. Were both ported way too lean. Could only get an idle by using main circuit via bottoming idle adjustment screw. Tried everything and still no luck. So--- I went back to Lyle's triple Carter YF setup. Now it idles great. No problems. Engineering a new progressive linkage (center carb is always active and back and front open at about 40%). Just have to fabricate an air filter system for hood clearance on my 67 Mustang Convertible.

Still wondering why the Webers wouldn't sustain this engine. Both carbs are in great shape and ran fine on the 200's I had them on. Guess this engine just needs more fuel flow.
