I bought an abused Zephyr last month, had to convert to a YF and de-smog it all at once to get it running...
Engine room with wasted 1946, first day.

Major mod is obvious in last picture.
Other mod was enlarging the metering rod jet from .120 to .125 and using emery cloth on the metering rod to "smooth" it, made a huge difference.
Mileage isn't very good yet @16~ (I have been pushing it pretty hard during modification phase)
I will replace plugs/wires/cap/rotor this weekend and fine tune it best I can. I'm hoping for 20 mpg commuting.
Hood clearance is less than an inch, not sure how to configure an air cleaner without cutting the hood. :(
Now that it runs pretty good, I can start cleaning the engine room

nice jop. not a bad car for that price, i'd buy it.
good luck
Thanks.

I couldn't resist grabbing it, even though it was really ugly at first. I had a 4dr Zephyr 5 years ago, shouldn't have sold it.
I have fixed most of the issues... Tune-up this weekend, rear brakes next week and tires next month.
Then should be able to just jump in and go anytime without wondering! :D
