Howdy all,
Need opinions on an upgrade for 200 doing a little 4-wheeling, highway and intown driving, hauling 18 ft aluminum boat, motorcycles, and just having some great driving fun (in other words, want it to be able to stand on it's own, if you know what I mean).

--Will be running 4:10 gears w/ stock 3-speed manual (@ 2700 RPMs at 65 MPH), will be adding ceramic coated header w/ 2 1/4" single & cheap turbo muffler.
--Looking at using carb off 300 L6 (now is Cater YF-1 w/ 0.065 low-side jet & 0.110 high-side jet).
--DIY ram-induction intake and stock air filter.
--The head is off of a ' 75 w/ Fel-Pro thick gasket

Just looking for some opinions from y'all. Thank you for your time.

the head of of a 79 - 83 200 or 250 will be best with some milling and porting while you`r doing that you could have some 1.50 exhause valves put in from www.fordsixparts.com you should realy have they`r intake valves put in as well , you`ll want you`r exhaust to be 2" - 2 1/4" . You`ll prolly want every one else to tell ya what carb you need because you prolly won`t want to do what I have planned

'73, does it already have electronic ignition? D1 or D2? If not I recommend upgrading to one of the two, the D2 is generally considered better because it has larger spaces between the terminals to help prevent. Also is there any chance you measured the combustion chambers and headgasket thickness before you assembled it? You might have cost yourself some points in the compression department.
