Refer attached. I'm looking at a legal 2-bbl smog carb which will pass a CARB inspection, IM test and visual inspection. Evidence was given by Motor Trend in 1981 that the Capri RS had a 97.5 hp 3.3 version package based on the standard T or B-code Futura/Fairmont/Zephyr/Cougar/Mustang 85, 94 or 87 hp 3.3 liter engine. It wasn't a raging firebrand, and did just 90 mph top speed and a 19 second quarter with a 2.49:1 diff and 0.80 overdrive SROD 4-speed gearbox, California spec trim. But it did go in a nice light 2640 pound car.
Long time ago, former member MarkP (now guest ) intimated in his posts that there was an authorised
(read EO endorsed) factory 2-bbl carb option for RS Capri 3.3 and that Ford were working on a planned but shelved fuel efficency Campas Interceptor package after the Iranian fuel crisis in 1981 for campas security.
Anyone seen one, have photo's or real army proof of the package?
What code engine was it?
I've only seen this B-code six cylinder in line engine below as a 3.3 option in after 1980 for Foxes,

and there is no evidence elseware that a 2-bbl Mustang or Capri 3.3 six ever existed.
