Vacuum 101

Is there a thread here reguarding vacuum? I've searched and found PCV 101, but not Vacuum 101. Here's my question,

Other than the DSII to Manifold Vacuum, and carb spacer to EGR valve, what else needs to be hooked up? My Holly/Weber has several ports going unused, some "down below" and some "above" the veturi. These are they:

The one marked "1" came from Stovebolt capped with the black cap; and

.

I also have an open manifold vacuum nipple. I can't find Vacuum lines in the shop manual. Should I just cap all that are unused?

thanks,

1) Bowl vent. Goes to charcoal canister if available. Doesn't ever have vacuum on it.

2) Could be ported vacuum. cap it for now, and see if it has vacuum at idle or off idle. If vac at idle, it is manifold vac but looks way too high up there to be that. Could also be "venturi vac", which rises as airflow increases.

3) Choke break. Cracks open the choke plate as soon as engine starts to prevent engine from flooding out.

Thanks for the info. #2 does have a small amount of vacuum at idle. I'll check to see if that increases as I gas it.
