Vacuum Fitting for Manifold

Anyone know of a good source for the manifold vacuum fitting on the 200 cyl head? or Part #?

Best I could find at my local parts store has too big a nipple for the hose that runs to the dizzy. It would require a bigger vacuum hose and clamp at the distributor to get it to work. I would've thought my local Mustang parts warehouse would carry it, but parts selection for our 6's is pretty basic over there.

Thanks,
Jay

Tru Value was the first place I tried. Surprisingly I think it was the only time I haven't found what I needed there. Thanks.

I used a female-female elbow from Home Depot, and found an adaptor nipple from NAPA I believe.

I am not sure what you are doing ,but remember this, you need to get vacuum for the dizzy from the base of the carb not the intake itself.

Depending on the carb a vacuum port near the base could be 'manifold' vac. Some carbs have several ports that all do and were intended for different things so they may run with different timing or pressures. It all depends on your setup and what you want out of it. I have found on all of my older engines (including my fairly stock 200) that I like the way they run better on manifold vac than 'ported'.

On my 200 I kept the steel line that originally went to the transmission. I cut the end off where it reduced to a smaller line and hooked to the hose to the trans and inserted a T fitting. The large fitting goes to the brake booster then another T comes off for the trans and dizzy. I was not sure how it was going to work with all that on one line but I have been running it that way for almost 2 years now and its still all working fine.

Thanks guys, I'll keep scavaging various hardware stores and hopefully find something to fit the bill.

Jay
