For sale is a set of springs, retainers and locs that came on my 2v mod head i bought from Hotvega on ebay. I needed higher spring pressures for my cam. I believe the springs and retainers are new, the locs are not. They were tested by a guy with a digital spring tester:
installed height 1.64
210# spring rate
1.130 bind height
118# seat pressure
210# open pressure
.973 spring pocket locator

45.00 plus what ever freight is. Let me know if you have any more questions and I will answer to the best of my ability

I’m out of my depth regarding valve spring specs for these engines. How do those rate vs stock spring rates and pressures?

Currently I’m using stock 1966 small log springs with a clay smith cam and the cam card calls for spring seat pressure of 120-130lbs. I’m still breaking it in so it goes up to 3,500 at the most right now and I’m wondering if I’ll get valve float at higher RPM with the stock springs.

If these are going to be a good match for what I’m running, I’d be interested in getting them.

Thanks,
Andrew

You also, and just as importantly, you need to get the open pressure from Clay Smith. That will very from cam to cam. It is the pressure required to keep the lifter in contact with the cam at the max rpm the cam is rated for.
I don’t know spring pressure off the top of my head ( I killed those brain cells! 😵‍💫 ) but I would assume these springs stiffer than stock because they came from a head that was modified for performance. They would be better but can’t say they would be best🤔

I’ll give them a call this afternoon and see what they say. The cam card only says seat pressure of 120-130lbs but I think that’s just a default spec they suggest.

I didn’t manage to get in touch with them on Friday and I’ll be away next week but I’ll try them again when I’m back.
