easy, get a bell for the 3spd for a v8, it bolts right on.
oil pan, you have to cut the bottom of the 170 off and weld it to the top flang of the 250 oil pan. it's the only way. also, you'll have to modify the oil pickup tube i'm told.
it's also best to have a 2inch body lift on the EB, as you'll have carb clearance issues with EVERYTHING. 1inch can get away but 2inch makes it easier.
the 250ci uses v8 trans, so if you wanted you could upgrade to the other wonderful trans that other love in the EB's.
I'm going the 250ci with 4r70w trans, and atomic TBI, all with CI head and header in my 66 bronco. it will take a while but it will be a blast to drive.
